The club consists of members representing different professions or activities. All the functions require the exercising of a certain responsibility.
Becoming a member
To become member of a club, the candidate must satisfy the following conditions :
| be at least 21 years old | |
| (I) exercise a profession, be engaged in business or in an occupation having a status or responsibilities comparable to those of a person exercising a profession or being engaged in business, including, where relevant, the status of a housewife, but excluding all political functions or |

(II) be either recently retired or temporarily or permanently retired from a profession or business or from an occupation having a status or responsibilities comparable to those of a person exercising a profession or being engaged in business |
|
| (III) be starting a career, a business or an occupation having the status or responsibilities comparable to those of someone exercising a profession or engaged in business. |

Women who do not satisfy the conditions above but who have an outstanding personality or who work in an area within the aims of SI can join as Friends (limited to 10% of club members).
Recruitment is by invitation, on presentation by two ‘godmothers’, in line with the procedures described in the statutes and internal rules.
Procedures for resignation or exclusion are defined for all categories of members.
Members who have reached the age of 75 years become senior members.
